Robben Ford is back with the album “Two Shades of Blue”, and with it come all the hallmarks that define this guitar grandmaster and his work, including refined feel and a high standard of compositional taste. The album drops on March 27, 2026 via Provogue/Artone.
A five-time Grammy nominee with a discography spanning half a century of success, moving between jazz, rock, fusion, and blues! That’s what marks Robben out as a musician in a constant state of metamorphosis. With “Two Shades Of Blue,” too, the 74-year-old guitarist says no two albums in his catalog are alike. “Two Shades Of Blue” is therefore a brand-new musical adventure.
“Two Shades Of Blue” isn’t the album Ford had planned, but that’s exactly what makes it all the more interesting and captivating. Recorded in the US and the UK with two different backing bands, it ranges from the funk-blues flavor of the lead single Make My Own Weather to mellow instrumentals, with which this musician once again pushes his artistic boundaries.
