Steve Morse Band, the new band formed by former Deep Purple, Kansas and The Dixie Dregs guitarist – the one and only Steve Morse – dropped their debut album “Triangulation” on November 14. The record is out via the Dutch label Music Theories Recordings.
Below you’ll find the video for the album’s closing track, Taken By An Angel, which features father and son – Steve and Kevin Morse – playing together.
Before that, Steve Morse Band put out the single and video TexUS. On that one, Steve is joined on guitar by none other than another well-known guitar grandmaster – Eric Johnson. They also released the title single, which features a guest spot from John Petrucci (Dream Theater). The first single was Break Through! All of them are available below.
“Triangulation” will be available in all formats, and you can already order it.
The single Break Through is actually the first new music Steve has put out since the 2009 album “Out Standing In Their Field.” Steve says of the track: “The song starts off one way, and then the bass takes over the melody. It’s a real joy to play and opens the album with a truly positive vibe.”
When you think of the greatest guitarists of all time, Steve Morse is a name that’s always in the conversation. On this album, Morse teams up once again with his longtime Dixie Dregs and Flying Colors bandmate, bassist Dave LaRue, and the two are joined on drums by Van Romaine [Steve Morse Band/Enrique Iglesias].
