By blending elements of melodic death metal, classical symphonies and Slavic traditional music, southern French band Aephanemer have developed a sound that could influence an entire new generation of metal. After bursting onto the scene in 2014 with their debut EP Know Thyself, followed in 2016 by their first, critically acclaimed full-length Memento Mori, the quartet quickly started building a loyal fanbase – and laying the foundations of the symphonic melodic death metal genre along the way.
Thanks to their outstanding musicianship, impressive live shows (including festivals like Wacken Open Air) and fresh, modern sound, the band quickly caught the eye of leading rock and metal label Napalm Records, which reissued their second album Prokopton in October 2019.
With the release of the new albums A Dream of Wilderness and Utopie, mixed by the legendary Dan Swanö and mastered by Mika Jussila at the renowned Finnvox Studios, Aephanemer aim to cement their position as one of the leading forces of symphonic melodic death metal.
