Jure »JJ« Jurca, frontman of Unforgiven 4 – Metallica tribute, Bravo 90’s Hit and the acoustic duo Vagabunda, is cooking up a new solo album of original material. It’s a concept record that will use its ten tracks to tackle different forms of addiction, their consequences, and the state of mind that comes with them.

Musically, the album will lean mostly metal, but JJ isn’t staying inside genre lines this time either. Expect some rockabilly, two acoustic tracks, and plenty of different flavors, from pop to growled vocals and blast beats, and even a disco beat. Jure says that in recent years his writing has been hugely influenced by bands like Bring Me the Horizon, Avatar, Parkway Drive and Ghost. Which points to a very modern production.

JJ was also the frontman of the progressive metal outfit Chaosstar in the past, and with his new solo project, which he named JJ Project, he wants to get back to his roots and to metal waters, since heavier music still inspires him big time.

The album is being made under the production guidance of Damir Juretič, a producer who has also worked with Within Destruction. The release, or at least the wrap-up of recording, is planned for the end of this year.

The album title and the final tracklist remain a secret for now. What we do know is that the record will consist of 10 tracks, and their titles are expected to be revealed in September.
