Martin Barre, the acclaimed guitarist and former Jethro Tull member who spent more than four decades in the band, has just put out a new double live album (2CD format) titled “The Acoustic Trio And The Electric Quartet Live In The USA And Europe”. It’s out via Cherry Red Records.

In 2012 he recorded several solo albums and started touring Europe and the US as a solo artist with his own band. Martin’s live approach includes shows with an acoustic trio featuring Dan Crisp (vocals, guitar) and Alan Thomsnetwork (bass, guitar), as well as an electric lineup where they’re joined by Terl Bryant on drums – and both versions have drawn praise from fans and critics alike.

This new album features a gorgeous performance by Martin’s acoustic band, recorded on April 19, 2025 at The Center For The Arts in Homer, New York, plus a stunning set from his electric band, captured at the Woodstock Forever festival in Germany in August 2024. Both performances mix Martin’s solo work with Jethro Tull classics. ‘The Acoustic Trio And The Electric Quartet Live In USA And Europe’ is a lovely collection showing the many sides of a great musician and his band.
