To mark its 30th anniversary, Italian label Frontiers Records will release a special compilation called “XXX Anniversary Compilation”, available from May 22, 2026.
The label has already dropped three singles from the compilation: a cover of the Pretty Maids track Little Drops Of Heaven, reworked with the legendary Robin McAuley on vocals; a take on Viva La Victoria by Sweden’s Eclipse, sung this time by Dyan Mair (a Greek vocalist whose real name is Kostas Matziaris); and a reworking of Down From The Mountain, originally by Allen/Lande, now featuring vocals from Nicklas Sonne. Now there’s a fourth cover below: Love Will Set You Free, originally by Whitesnake, here sung by Santiago Ramona.
This special compilation celebrates the label’s rich legacy! It digs through the archive of albums released over 30 years by a long list of artists, with tracks given a fresh spin by an impressive lineup of guest vocalists.
Reimagining the originals fell to veteran guitar virtuoso Aldo Lonobile, who brought in a crew of other excellent musicians: Alessandro Mammola (guitar), Andrea Arcangeli (bass), Cristian Timpanaro (bass guitar), keyboardists Alessio Lucatti and Antonio Agate, and drummers Alfonso Mocerino and Fortunato Grillo. “XXX Anniversary Compilation” is more than just a compilation – it’s a tribute to 30 years of rock resilience, with a heartfelt thank-you to the artists, the fans and everyone else who has been part of the Frontiers Records story in one way or another.
You can already pre-order the compilation.
