Haken, the British new-era prog metallers and darlings of Insideout Music, have dropped their first new original track in three years. It’s an epic new single, In A Fever Dream, clocking in at over seven minutes.

This is the band’s first new music since the release of the album “Fauna” in 2023. Earlier this year, guitarist Charlie Griffiths and bassist Conner Green left the band. Haken sent them off with words of deep respect, saying: “Both Charlie and Conner are irreplaceable. As musicians and as people, they contributed enormously to what Haken are today.”

The new single brings together the many sides of Haken’s musical vision. The track is wildly dynamic: after an opening section ruled by the gentle vocals of singer Ross Jennings, it progressively opens up and hits a crescendo in a soaring finale!

For the bass guitar parts, Haken called in a top-notch American bassist, Bryan Beller of the esteemed progressive instrumental outfit The Aristocrats. On top of that, they worked with producer George Lever for the first time in their career, who previously worked with Sleep Token and Loathe.
