Hackett & Rothery will release their instrumental guitar album “The Roaring Waves” in August. The new record comes out on August 28, 2026, via InsideOut Music.
Steve Hackett and Steve Rothery, teaming up as the duo Hackett & Rothery, have just shared their second new track, complete with a video! It’s called Red Dragon, and you can check it out below. It follows the earlier single The Black Sea.
Joining them on “The Roaring Waves” is Hackett’s new keyboardist Riccardo Romano, who has also worked with Rothery and with French prog rockers Nine Skies. Romano worked with both guitarists on the songwriting and production too, and contributed keyboards and bass guitar. Drums on the album come from Leon Parr, who also plays with Rothery.
“The Roaring Sea” is available in several formats, including a limited CD+Blu-ray mediabook edition featuring mixes in Dolby Atmos (by Andy Bradfield) and High Resolution Stereo. The album will also come as a standard CD and a 180 g LP. Miles Showell handled the half-speed cut at Abbey Road studio. Simon War took care of the artwork.
You can already pre-order “The Roaring Waves”.
