After the single “Once,” which announced his upcoming album Traces, Boštjan Leben is back with a new track, “Chloe.” Once again he’s joined by American vocalist, violinist, composer and singer Yvette Holzwarth, with whom Leben builds a musical dialogue that ties together different musical worlds and experiences.

Boštjan Leben is a composer, producer, guitarist, sound designer, session musician and educator who has spent more than three decades exploring the connections between sound, human experience and different cultural traditions. He honed his craft in Europe, the United States and India, and over his career he has written for theater, television and a range of music projects, as well as putting out a string of solo albums. His work is also backed by years of teaching and more than 900 radio shows dedicated to blues, jazz and ethno music.

Yvette Holzwarth, who hails from Los Angeles, has worked as a vocalist, violinist and musician with plenty of internationally renowned artists, including Stevie Wonder, Ariana Grande, George Benson, Backstreet Boys and Miroslav Tadić. Working with Leben is a meeting of two different creative worlds, which come together on Traces into a distinctly personal, singular body of music.

“Chloe” carries extra weight because of the story behind its lyrics. It’s actually a very personal tale about someone close who suddenly left, without ever letting anyone know about the struggles or pain that led to that decision. When I wrote the lyrics, the experience was still very fresh and raw. – Yyette Holzwarth

“Chloe” is more a sculpture carved out of silence than a song…it sounds like the guitar is comforting the words… …the story is dark brown in color… – Boštjan Leben

“Chloe” picks up the story Leben began with the single “Once” while continuing to reveal the mood of the upcoming album Traces. The full record lands this fall, and a third single will follow after its release.

The album will feature ten tracks that don’t bow to fast-moving trends, but instead build space for listening, reflection and inner focus. Traces is a musical essay probing the border between sound and silence, between the personal and the universal, between a moment and eternity.
