Just a good month after the surprisingly well-received first single “Tisti Moment”, Taddei is already back with his next song, titled “Spet Domov”.
“I’m surprised and honored at the same time by all the attention I’ve been getting. It’s definitely confirmation that Denis and I are doing something right (Denis Horvat, composer and producer, author’s note). It felt wrong to back off, so we rolled up our sleeves and locked ourselves in the studio. I think our second step is worthy of the first.
The song Spet domov can stir up different feelings in each of us. Everyone can read it their own way, because it carries a beautiful message. On one level, it’s about love, missing someone, homesickness and coming back to a loved one, but it goes deeper too. From where I stand, it’s about forgiveness. Forgiving those we’ve hurt or let down, knowingly or not. And about us forgiving those who’ve let us down and hurt us. Because I believe in kindred spirits, in deep and honest friendships, in eternal love. And even though life, for all sorts of reasons, tears our paths apart and separates us time and again, I believe we’ll find each other again someday. In all our authenticity and humility, with good intentions and joy inside, because we made it. Because we’re simply meant to be. So at its core, at least from my point of view, the song is about how our home isn’t where we physically live. Our home is where we have each other, where we still love each other unconditionally despite all our foolish deeds. Wherever and whenever.”
When Tisti moment came out, we voiced the hope that it wouldn’t be a one-off, because the Slovenian music scene needs authenticity, a polished sound and a charismatic voice. Taddei definitely delivers all of that, and with Spet domov he also proves that his journey is only just beginning.
