Even though the album is clearly a product of its time (the eighties, that is), Ballard's songwriting is pretty convincing here, even if the lyrics get a bit syrupy.

The Fire Still Burns shows that the fire of musicality and real feeling was still burning in Ballard back then. Melodic rock fans, you can't afford to miss this one.
