Swedish death metal institution Vomitory will release their new studio album, the lovingly titled “In Death Throes”, on April 10 via Metal Blade Records.
First off, a quick heads-up: Vomitory are hitting the road in early April as special guests of fellow Swedes Hypocrisy on a new European tour called “Mass Hallucination”, which will also stop at Cvetličarna in Ljubljana on April 17, 2026 – more info HERE. Vreid and Abbath are joining the run too!

Whenever there’s a serious conversation about death metal, it’s impossible to avoid Vomitory and everything they’ve done. Formed in 1989, the Swedish band put out eight scorching albums between 1996 and 2011, cementing their status as titans of the genre before splitting up in 2013. But their retirement was short-lived, and in 2019 they returned to the stage to celebrate their 30th anniversary. Now, three years after the release of their critically acclaimed 2023 album “All Heads Are Gonna Roll”, Vomitory are back with their latest record, “In Death Throes”.
On the new album, Vomitory introduce a new member, guitarist Christian Fredriksson, who was also actively involved in writing and recording the material.
“In Death Throes” was recorded last year at several studios across Sweden.
Drums and vocals were tracked at Leon Music Studios in Karlstad, Sweden, with producer Rikard Löfgren handling engineering – he previously worked on Terrorize Brutalize Sodomize, Carnage Euphoria and Opus Mortis VIII. Guitars and bass were recorded at Goff Studios in Karlstad, with Christian Fredriksson engineering. For mixing and mastering, the band once again turned to Lawrence Mackrory (Paradise Lost, Bloodbath, Lik) at Rorysound Studios in Uppsala, Sweden.
The cover art for the new album comes once again from Giannis Nakos (Remedy Art Design).
“In Death Throes” will be available in all formats, and you can already pre-order it.
