After working with Gary Hughes (Ten) on his first three solo studio albums, and with his Hard Rain bandmate Paul Hodson on the fourth, the Magnum frontman teamed up with the members of Lost Weekend and with Vince O’Regan (Escape, Legion, Pulse) for his fifth album, “Spirit of Man.” Vince was Bob’s guitarist at plenty of his solo gigs.
Vince and Bob also played a bunch of acoustic shows together, and during that time the two of them headed into Vince O’Regan’s studio and recorded a series of acoustic versions of Catley’s solo material as a duo. There are no Magnum songs on the album.
The cover art was created by Sebastian Kozak (Ten, Crown of Thorns, etc.).
