Mi2 summer: from intimate acoustic nights under the stars to the biggest festivals.

This summer’s concert season for Mi2 is shaping up to be colorful and varied. First and foremost, they’re diving into a different, calmer, acoustic side of their repertoire with this year’s acoustic tour Natur(i), which gives their original catalog a fresh new acoustic spin. It’ll take them to some of the most beautiful venues around: a nearly sold-out show at Celje Castle in Celje (June 12) is coming up, the day after they play the Avditorij Portorož for the first time (June 13), then it’s on to Bogenšperk Castle (July 3) and the magical Žiče Charterhouse (July 4), with even more dates to follow in late summer and fall. On top of the acoustic shows, in the first half of the summer Mi2 are also hitting the biggest festivals and summer events with their classic, electric set (Šmarska noč: 6/19, Festival Lent: 7/1, Kranj – Khislstein: 7/10, Pivo & Cvetje: 7/11).

Mi2 Go Fully Natur and Acoustic!

Right after marking their 30th anniversary, Mi2 took on a new challenge – they rebuilt and aired out their acoustic repertoire from the ground up and presented it to us in the form of the acoustic tour Natur(i). And Natur(i) is more than just an acoustic tour, it also offers a different take on songs we all know. With the band picking up acoustic instruments this time, they’re joined on stage by a mini Mi2 brass orchestra led by Anže Zaveršnik and percussionist Blaž Celarec – which swells the lineup to a full eleven musicians! And in this sonic setup, it’s above all those little details and flourishes in the music that come to the fore, the ones that are easy to miss in the classic, electric set. With calmer musical backing, the lyrics step even further into the spotlight and take on extra depth and a different interpretation. On their acoustic, natural Natur(i) tour, Mi2 know how to conjure up that authentic, different kind of concert experience, even though acoustics aren’t new territory for them. At the same time, the songs everyone in Slovenia knows keep that charm that made us fall in love with them in the first place. Whether it’s their biggest ones like Zbudi me za 1. maj, Hči vaškega učitelja, Čista jeba or Pojdi z menoj v toplice and Odhajaš, or the ones that have often, undeservedly, stayed in the shadow of the big hits (Večer pred Rudekovo gorco, Topli jug, Stara duša, Šlager …).
