Oddland, the Finnish progressive metallers, are back with a new single and video for the track Soar, which you can check out below. The single dropped via Frontiers Music Srl., just like its predecessor Freefall, which Oddland unveiled this past April.
With the new single, Oddland are also announcing the album “Unilluminate To Illuminate”, due out on August 21, 2026, via Frontiers Music Srl.
Mixing and mastering of the new album were handled by Grammy-nominated producers Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland at Atrium Audio (August Burns Red, Lorna Shore, Candlebox).
Oddland were formed in 2003 in Turku, Finland. After a string of successful demo recordings, the band signed with Century Media and released their debut “The Treachery Of Senses” in 2012.
The record, mixed and mastered by Dan Swanö, was met with critical enthusiasm and hailed as the best prog metal record ever made in Finland.
For the follow-up “Origin”, Oddland recorded at Studio Fantom (Insomnium, Korpiklaani, Oranssi Pazuzu), with Daniel Bergstrand (Meshuggah, In Flames, Dimmu Borgir) handling the mix and master. The album came out in 2016 via Sensory Records.
In February 2022, the band signed with the new German label Uprising! Records (a sub-label of Target Group) and released their third album “Vermilion”. Carson Slovak and Grant Mcfarland (Black Crown Initiate, Rivers Of Nihil, etc.) handled the mixing and mastering, while the cover art was created by the band’s drummer Ville Viitanen.
