Location: Orto bar / Ljubljana / Slovenia
Concert date: 17.04.2007
Attendance: 200
As has become the custom, Orto bar was once again packed “to the absolute limit” with seasoned rockers and the “old tomcats” of Dan D. The show was sold out! That’s something that, for Dan D gigs in Ljubljana at least, has pretty much become an everyday thing. The crowd gave their darlings a roaring welcome, surrendered to the music without a second thought, and backed the band the whole way through, knowing the “Dan D creed” (a.k.a. the lyrics) like the back of their hands. Dan D are always the address for top-quality bread and circuses, and this time too, nobody who showed up got shortchanged! Among the merry crowd there were plenty of familiar media faces, and the members of Sidharta came to cheer Dan D on as well. The two bands have been especially buddy-buddy lately, since they recorded a song together under the name Sidanda, a “Viktor-ian” hit called Mala Voda (Male Roke plus Voda in one piece!)
There was no shortage of good vibes, positive spirit and playfulness during the show. The band didn’t just deliver an energetic performance, but also really top-notch sound, which took our hangout with Dan D up another level.
Superb chemistry and communication between the players, a tight, coherent approach, Tokac leading the way with authority, and the atmosphere in the hall turned out fantastic, I’d even say intoxicating, the kind where you lose all sense of time and space. That’s why the whole thing flew by too fast, and after the show there wasn’t a single fan who didn’t wish the Dan D gig had lasted just one more minute. Good things always pass quickly! I just hope they come around again often!
