Brian Robertson to Reissue “Diamonds And Dirt” in Expanded Edition
Brian Robertson, one of the central guitarists who shaped rock music in the seventies and the first half of the eighties, is getting a reissue of the debut solo album “Diamonds And Dirt”. The reissue is set for May 29, 2026.
The legendary guitarist’s album, originally released in 2011, gets beefed up with two bonus tracks. The package also includes the previously unreleased instrumental album “The Brian Robertson Album”, recorded in the same period as “Diamonds And Dirt”.
Robertson first turned heads in 1974, when, at just 18, Robertson joined Thin Lizzy and, together with Scott Gorham, helped craft that unmistakable twin-guitar harmony sound on classics like The Boys Are Back In Town and Jailbreak. Next came the band Wild Horses, followed by a stint in Mötorhead, with whom Robertson recorded and released the album “Another Perfect Day” in 1983.
Originally recorded at Polar Studios in Stockholm, “Diamonds And Dirt” delivers raw blues hard rock inspired by the work of Free and Bad Company, with Leif Sundlin, Nalle Påhlsson, Ian Haughland and Rob Lamothe joining in on the album.
