Cryptic Shift, the UK’s extreme-metal musical oddballs and proud members of the Metal Blade Records family, dropped their studio album Overspace & Supertime on February 27, 2026, and as of today you can stream the whole thing on their YouTube channel!
You can already pre-order the album “Overspace & Supertime”.
The band, who these days label themselves phenomenal technological astrodeath metal, were founded in Leeds in 2015 by Xander Bradley (vocals/guitar) and Ryan Sheperson (drums). Cryptic Shift grew into a crossbreed between the world of technical thrash/death metal and everything sci-fi. Artistically, their vocabulary busts out of the familiar musical frameworks and reaches for new dimensions of musical expression. So the new album should be a treat for fans of similar musical ‘oddballs’ like Blood Incantation, Voivod, Cynic and Vektor.
Track list of the new album “Overspace & Overtime”:
1. Cryogenically Frozen
2. Stratocumulus Evergaol
3. Hyperspace Topography
4. Hexagonal Eyes (Diverity Trepaphymphasyzm)
5. Overspace & Supertime
That’s a whopping 78 minutes and 57 seconds of music on this album!
