After the reissues of »Motori«, »Konji« and the anthological debut “Divlje jagode”, it’s now the turn of the cult album »Čarobnjaci«. It’s the band’s fourth record, originally released in 1983.
With tracks like Metalni radnici, Sama si, Morrison and the title track Čarobnjaci, Divlje jagode climbed to the throne of the heavy scene in the former common state, where they stayed practically unbeatable for years. At the same time, as a band that also forged its identity on timeless ballads like Krivo je more and Jedina moja, Divlje jagode didn’t shy away from their signature sound on »Čarobnjaci«. The songs Svi nisu kao ja and Samo tren showed off a softer but equally successful side of their creative formula.
Just like its predecessor »Motori«, »Čarobnjaci« was recorded with the same lineup (Zele Lipovača, Alen Islamović and Nasko Budimlić), with Theo Werdin producing. The album was recorded at the Music Park studio in Germany (Bad Homburg). The technical capabilities there contributed hugely to a sound that met international standards.
What makes this reissue special is the new cover art by Dragan S. Stefanović, the author of the album’s original cover, who took the occasion to create a fresh interpretation of the original artwork. The remaster was handled by Theo Werdin, working from the original master tapes.
