Eddie Hermida, the New Voice of Suicide Silence
Author: Primož Novak
Location: Kino Šiška / Ljubljana / Slovenia
Interview date: 03.12.2014
Hernan »Eddie« Hermida hardly needs an introduction. He’s a major name in the deathcore scene, and he was already shaping it with the legendary All Shall Perish, whom he left after four albums because of the sluggish pace and, above all, an unstable lineup.
At the end of 2013, a stage-hungry Hermida joined Suicide Silence and stepped into the shoes of the late Mitch Lucker, who died tragically in a car accident on November 1, 2012. Despite all his years of experience, Hermida faced a brutal test. But he won plenty of praise and was embraced by the fans.
Last year the band recorded their new album You Can’t Stop Me (review HERE), which is a logical continuation of The Black Crown and a fresh start at the same time. On their European tour at the end of last year, the band stopped in Slovenia again, and Eddie took a few minutes for Rockline to talk about his role in Suicide Silence, the deathcore scene and a few other things.
