Immolation, the cult New York death metal crew, are announcing their new studio album “Descent”, which will be out on April 10, 2026 via Nuclear Blast Records.
Ever since their 1991 debut “Dawn Of Possession”, Immolation have pushed the bar for innovation to a whole new level and influenced generations of extreme metal across the world. Their sound remains one of a kind, built on Bob Vigna’s unmistakable guitar phrasing.
Below you’ll find the second single from the upcoming new Immolation album, the track Attrition. It also comes with an official music video! Bob Vigna directed the video again. The band announced the new album a while back with the single Adversary.
“Descent” was recorded in two locations. Justin Passamonte tracked guitars, bass and vocals at Jpass Music, while Noah Buchanan recorded the drums at Mercinary Studios. Zack Ohren once again took production on his shoulders, with Immolation also pitching in. Ohren handled the mixing and mastering as well.
The cover art comes from the renowned Elian Kantor. The album’s booklet interior was illustrated by Santiago Jaramillo.
