Joseph Tholl, the Swedish multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and composer best known for his work with speed metallers Enfrocer (where he played guitar until 2019), as well as the founder of Black Trip (later renamed Vojd) and current guitarist of Tribulation, will release his second studio album, “It Might Be Art”, via High Roller Records in mid-June this year.

Below you can check out the third single (and video) from the album, I Syrenens Tid. Before it, Joseph dropped the singles It Might Be Art and New Dawn.

After six years, “It Might Be Art” follows Tholl’s debut, “Devil’s Drum” (2019).

On “It Might Be Art”, Tholl handled vocals, guitars, most of the bass, plus keyboards and synth. Joining him on the album are Robert Eriksson (The Hellacopters) and Jakob Ljungberg (Second Sun) on drums, along with Johannes Andersson (Tribulation), Tobias Lindkvist (Tyrann), Pia Stjärnvind (Serpent Omega), Adam Zaars (Tribulation) and Robert Pehrsson (Dundertåget, Robert Pehrsson’s Humbucker).

You can already pre-order “It Might Be Art”.

“It Might Be Art” blends a wild mix of musical influences. Tholl cites the likes of The Sisters Of Mercy, The Cure, New Model Army and Midnight Oil as inspiration, but adds: “It’s really hard to pin down the album’s sound by just name-dropping a few bands. There are simply too many influences. The album is a mix of grunge, heavy metal, Swedish pop/rock, AOR… I’ve reshaped it all into my own rock’n’roll.”

“It Might Be Art” tracklist:
1. New Dawn
2. Oh the Madness
3. I’m in a Darkness
4. Invocation of the Evening Star
5. Walking
6. It Might be Art
7. I Syrenens Tid
8. Rebirth
9. On Velvet Waves
10 The Burial
