Lord Velvet, American 70s rock revivalists from Denver, will release their second studio album “Wiccan Moon” via Ripple Music on January 8, 2027.

The title single is out and already available on all major digital platforms!

The album was recorded under the production baton of Collin Ingram at The Band Cave studio in Denver. Live. It was mixed and mastered to tape by Pete de Boer at World Famous studio.

The cover art was drawn by Darie Hlazatove. It’s a melodic album that tells of fire, rituals, sacrifice and transformation.

Lord Velvet, formed in Denver in 2022, are standard-bearers of the so-called “Rocky Mountain Rock and Roll”, a mix of heavily psychedelic rock, proto-doom and early heavy metal. The music is accompanied by the dark yet majestic and strange beauty of the mountains surrounding the band’s hometown.

Taylor Webb (vocals), Bobby Scott (guitar), Jason Kleim (bass) and Mike Barnes (drums) make up Lord Velvet. Their music draws on an era of musical heritage when the boundaries between hard rock, psychedelic rock and heavy metal were only just taking shape. The wickedness of Black Sabbath, the mysticism of Rainbow and the grandeur of Deep Purple, plus the quirky, untamed spirit of the 1970s heavy metal underground – all of it forms the foundation of Lord Velvet’s music-making.

Lord Velvet released their debut “Astral Lady” in 2023 on Glory or Death Records and made their name with a sound steeped in fuzz, melody and a touch of clowning around. With their second album “Wiccan Moon”, Lord Velvet have moved under the wing of Ripple Music and dug even deeper into 70s heavy rock, reshaping those influences into a proto-doom and heavy metal sound all their own.
