Almost thirty years have passed since Nihilist first cranked their Boss HM2 pedals up to 11, and the flag of Swedish death metal is still flying high today. Still, a pretty big hole opened up in the genre when Dismember, one of the big four of Swedish death metal, went into early retirement. Stockholm’s Lik decided to fill that void, and with their debut Mass Funeral Evocation they’ve more than pulled it off. This year Lik also made their Slovenian debut at Metaldays 2017, which is where this interview came about. Lik are currently in the middle of recording their second studio album.
