It’s been almost thirty years since Nihilist first cranked their Boss HM2 pedals up to 11, and the flag of Swedish death metal is still flying high today. But a pretty big hole opened up in the genre when Dismember, one of the big four of Swedish death metal, headed off into early retirement. Stockholm’s Lik decided to fill that gap, and with their debut Mass Funeral Evocation they’ve more than pulled it off. This year Lik also made their first appearance in front of a Slovenian crowd, at Metaldays 2017, which is where this interview came about. Lik are already busy recording their second studio album.
