When you talk about the history of black metal, you simply can’t skip over the name Mayhem. The Norwegian band, formed in 1984, is considered one of the key founders of the second wave of black metal and a group that changed the face of extreme music forever. Their history is tangled up with infamous events, controversies and tragedies, but above all with music that laid the foundations for an entire genre.
Their cult debut De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas still stands as one of the most important and influential black metal albums of all time. Cold guitar melodies, a dark atmosphere and relentless intensity created a sound that inspired countless bands around the world. Even after more than four decades, Mayhem remain a synonym for uncompromising extremity, and their shows are famous for their gloomy vibe, outstanding stage presence and top-notch delivery.
Sharing the bill with them are Swedish giants Marduk, who have been regarded as one of black metal’s most merciless forces since the early nineties. Blistering drums, relentless riffs and war-themed lyrics have earned them a place among the genre’s most recognizable and powerful live acts.
When two black metal legends meet on the same stage, there’s no room for compromise. On October 10, Cvetličarna will be wrapped in darkness – join us for one of the year’s most anticipated extreme shows.
