Neil Young, the legendary Canadian singer-songwriter and three-time Grammy winner, has canceled his upcoming European tour. The 80-year-old was supposed to kick off a run of European shows on June 27. The first was announced in Cornwall, UK, and the tail end of the schedule included two Italian dates, among them the closing show at Villa Manin (in the town of Codroipo, near Udine), where Young was due to play his last concert on July 16.
Neil Young released a short official statement explaining the decision: “I’ve decided to take a break. I don’t plan to tour Europe this time around.”
Young adds: “Thanks to everyone who bought tickets. I’m sorry to disappoint you, but now is not the right time. I really love playing and hanging out with you and Chrome Hearts.”
