Peter Gabriel, the celebrated singer-songwriter and British prog rock icon, has dropped the dark-side mix of his fifth new single, Won’t Stand Down (mixed by Tchad Blake). The new single will appear on Gabriel’s upcoming album “o\i”.
Judging by how the singles are coming out, with every one released in a ‘bright side’ mix and then a ‘dark side’ mix, we can expect Gabriel to put out the new album in two differently mixed versions!
Gabriel already premiered this single in its ‘bright-side’ mix two weeks ago.
Before Won’t Stand Down, Gabriel had already shared these singles in both mixes: What Lies Ahead, Been Undone, Put The Bucket Down, What Lies Ahead and Till Your Mind Is Shining.
The album is slowly taking shape over the course of this year, just like Gabriel did with its predecessor “i/o” back in 2023. Every single drops on the full moon. Once again there will be both a “dark-side” and a “bright-side” mix, with Tchad Blake and Mark ‘Spike’ Stent back on mixing duty.
All five singles were written and produced by Peter Gabriel and recorded at Real World studios in Bath and The Beehive in London.
