Peter Hammill, a one-of-a-kind musical visionary and a member of British prog rock icons Van Der Graaf Generator, is announcing a new studio album, due out September 25 on Esoteric Antenna Records. The album, titled “Tears In Time”, will be Hammill’s first in five years.
Below you can check out the first single from the album, Heavy Weather.
The new album is a collection of songs recorded at various locations in his Terra Incognita studio between 1991 and 2026. It’s the first since the 2021 album “In Translation”, which was itself a selection of covers, which means “Tears In Time” is really Hammill’s first proper studio album since “From The Trees” in 2017 to feature entirely new original material.
“Tears In Time” will be available in all formats, and you can already pre-order it.
“Tears In Time” features the following tracks:
1. For A Rainy Day
2. The Wheels
3. Heavy Weather
4. Angle Of The Curve
5. So Much Water
6. Tabula Rasa
7. Oh The End
8. Red Flags (In The Sunset)
9. You’ll Never Know
10. The Half Of It
11. And When He Ran
