Peter Hammill, a one-of-a-kind musical visionary and a member of British prog rock icons Van Der Graaf Generator, has announced a new studio album, due out on September 25 via Esoteric Antenna Records. Titled “Tears In Time,” it’s Hammill’s first album in five years.
Below, you can check out the second single from the album, So Much Water. Not long ago, Hammill also shared the single Heavy Weather.
The new album is a collection of songs recorded in various spots at his Terra Incognita studio between 1991 and 2026. It’s the first since 2021’s “In Translation,” which was itself a selection of covers, so “Tears In Time” is effectively Hammill’s first proper studio album since 2017’s “From The Trees,” and it’ll be packed with entirely new original material.
“Tears In Time” will be available in all formats, and you can already pre-order it.
Here’s the tracklist for “Tears In Time”:
1. For A Rainy Day
2. The Wheels
3. Heavy Weather
4. Angle Of The Curve
5. So Much Water
6. Tabula Rasa
7. Oh The End
8. Red Flags (In The Sunset)
9. You’ll Never Know
