Ram, the Swedish heavy metallers, will release their new album “Against” via Metal Blade Records on October 9, 2026 – the band’s first studio album in almost seven years.
Down below you can check out the third single from the album, Abattoir. It follows the singles Night Blade and Ghost Emperor, the latter of which the band used to announce the new record in mid-August this year.
Following 2019’s “The Throne Within”, “Against” strikes a fiercely rebellious pose, zeroing in on defiance, nonconformity, and that feeling of being shoved by the system and the masses following it into doing things that go way past any reasonable limit.
The album title reflects Ram’s long-standing devotion to heavy metal as the most merciless form of sonic terror.
Musically, the band looked back to the classic sounds of cult acts like Dio, MSG, and Sweet, aiming for an honest, direct, and organic production and ditching all the polishing and sanding-down of recordings that modern production approaches demand. The album was recorded at Recordia studio in Varberg, Sweden, with longtime collaborator Johan Reiven handling production.
You can already pre-order the album “Against”.
