American progressive death metal outfit Fallujah is a relatively young band. But in its short life it has won people over by making serious progress with every release, which has stirred up quite a bit of attention among those who swear by more extreme metal.
At first, the Leper Colony EP made it look like Fallujah would be just another generic deathcore band with zero potential, but then the debut The Harvest Wombs showed that the band has plenty of imagination, and they headed off into more extreme waters. So nothing of the deathcore is left. Fallujah simply sped up, took death and black metal as their blueprint, then packed it all together and made it so intricate that today we can count them among the leading names of the extreme scene, technically sharp and with a progressive outlook.
Fallujah proved their inventiveness even more with the album The Flesh Prevails (review HERE), which earned plenty of good reviews and also got the band noticed by bigger labels. Last year the band signed with the biggest metal label out there, Nuclear Blast, and this year they’ll be putting out their new, third studio album on it.
In their short career, Fallujah have already visited Slovenia three times. Their latest stop here was on December 12, 2015, together with Carnifex, Within the Ruins and Boris the Blade (report HERE). Before the show, the band’s guitarist Scott Carstairs took a few minutes for an interview and talked about the new album, influences and plenty more.
