April isn't just the month of weird weather, it's also the month of the annual, traditional metal weekend at Kranj's TrainStation Subart.

In the final days of 2016, Kranj's Armaroth gave birth to their full-length studio debut Zenith, and its release shook them out of a few months of live hibernation at Trainstation Subart in Kranj.

Noctiferia are racing toward the release of their new album PAX, and this time they brought the torch of Noctiferian peace to Kranj's Trainstation Squot!

The festival's second day was all about fickle weather that showed us no mercy even late into the night, but during killer sets from Obituary, Manilla Road and Vader, the rain quickly drifted into oblivion.

The event lived up to every expectation. There was plenty to get excited about from some of the more extreme metal acts in Slovenia, there was even free food (a hot dog, to be precise), and the booze flowed like water.

With the EP, Armaroth have captured the pulse of a modern world that's turning into nothing less than the full-blown dystopia of Brave New World and 1984, and the guys from Kranj have delivered a fitting soundtrack to the collapse.

It's not just the weather that's heating up: the tension is building ahead of this year's MetalDays too, and the warm-up gigs are fanning the flames!
