After more than three decades of an incredible career, Swedish prog rock pioneers The Flower Kings are back with “Hope”, their 18th studio album and one of the most ambitious achievements on their rich journey. Combining polished musical mastery with fearless creativity, the album is both a celebration of the band’s legacy and a bold step forward, bursting with a grand, cinematic and adventurous spirit. It’s exactly this urge to explore that drives the band, and it’s what made them one of the most beloved acts in progressive rock.
“Hope” is packed with lavish compositions, including the epic 30-minute centerpiece The Gods of Rome. Drawing on themes of power, conflict, human ambition and the state of the modern world, the album reflects on an age marked by division and a lack of empathy, yet closes on a message of optimism, compassion and renewal.
Rather than chasing current trends, The Flower Kings stay true to the organic, melodic sound that has defined them throughout their career. The result is a captivating listening experience full of soaring melodies, virtuoso playing, rich arrangements and moments of genuine emotional depth.
“Hope” will be released on October 23, 2026 via Insideout Music!
