U.D.O., Germany’s indestructible metal marathon men led by Accept’s former frontman Udo Dirkschneider, will release their 20th studio album (yes, you read that right) on January 8, 2027. It’s called “Voodoo Ranger” and it’s coming out via Reigning Phoenix Music (RPM).
Down below you’ll find the first single from the album and the video for I’ll Die Trying!
Three numbers are following the band around: 75. 40. 20. Udo Dirkschneider is celebrating his 75th birthday, U.D.O. are celebrating 40 years of existence, and “Voodoo Ranger” adds yet another milestone to a career stretching across four decades.
The album delivers that unmistakable U.D.O. sound: mighty crunchy riffs, hungry choruses, Udo’s trademark screech, and room for two darker tracks as well as two ballads. The first single I’ll Die Trying shows Udo Dirkschneider from a more intimate, confessional side, while bassist Peter Baltes takes over lead vocals on the closing track Movin’ On. The opener The Sky Is The Limit throws pure metal fury at you right from the start.
“Voodoo Ranger” was written by Udo Dirkschneider, Sven Dirkschneider, Peter Baltes and Fabian “Dee” Dammers, with contributions from new guitarist Alen Brentini, and it ties four decades of history to a determination to keep U.D.O. moving forward.
The album’s release will coincide with a massive European run, the “Triple Anniversary Tour 2027”, and the release of Udo Dirkschneider’s official autobiography. On February 2, 2027, U.D.O. will also play Ljubljana’s Cvetličarna!
