Swedish death metal institution Vomitory will release their new studio album, the charmingly titled “In Death Throes”, via Metal Blade Records on April 10.
Worth adding up front: Vomitory are hitting the road in early April as special guests of fellow Swedes Hypocrisy on a new European tour called “Mass Hallucination”, and they’ll be stopping at Cvetličarna in Ljubljana on April 17, 2026 – more info HERE. Vreid and Abbath are on the bill too!
Below you’ll find the second single (and video) from the album, for the track Wrath Unbound. It follows the earlier single For Gore And Country!
Whenever the conversation turns to death metal, it’s impossible to avoid the name and work of Vomitory. Formed in 1989, the Swedish outfit unleashed eight scorching albums between 1996 and 2011, cementing their status as titans of the genre before splitting in 2013. But their retirement was short-lived, and in 2019 they returned to the stage to celebrate their 30th anniversary. Now, three years after their critically acclaimed 2023 album “All Heads Are Gonna Roll”, Vomitory are back with their latest record, “In Death Throes”.
On the new album, Vomitory introduce a new member, guitarist Christian Fredriksson, who was also actively involved in writing and recording the material.
“In Death Throes” was recorded last year across several studios in Sweden.
Drums and vocals were tracked at Leon Music Studios in Karlstad, Sweden, with producer Rikard Löfgren handling engineering – he previously worked on Terrorize Brutalize Sodomize, Carnage Euphoria and Opus Mortis VIII. Guitars and bass were recorded at Goff Studios in Karlstad, engineered by Christian Fredriksson. For mixing and mastering, the band once again turned to Lawrence Mackrory (Paradise Lost, Bloodbath, Lik) at Rorysound Studios in Uppsala, Sweden.
The cover art for the new album comes once again from Giannis Nakos (Remedy Art Design).
“In Death Throes” will be available in all formats, and you can already pre-order it.
