Saša Bole has died. He was a musician who left his mark in the eighties and nineties as the guitarist of Martin Krpan and Bombe, and he was also a key figure in promoting and scouting new musical talent, backing them as they broke onto the scene.

Bole jumped in with the legendary Martin Krpan just before they recorded their debut album “Bonbonjera”, which came out in 1982.

He was seen as one of the most promising young guitarists, not just in Slovenia but across the whole former common state, and while still a member of Martin Krpan he was even voted the best guitarist in the former Yugoslavia.

In 1990 he co-founded the hard rock outfit Bombe. By 1997, when the band called it a day, he had recorded and released three albums with Bombe: “Zvočni zid” (1992), “Metafizične svinje” (1994) and “Sladka pozaba” (1997).

He also worked as a radio host on Gamma MM and as a music promoter at the Palma disco, where he helped promote new musical talent.
