Finnish metal veterans Amorphis have dropped their fifth single (and an official lyric video) from the new studio album “Borderland”, this time for the track The Lantern.
“Borderland” is the band’s 15th studio album, out September 26, 2025 on Reigning Phoenix Music.
You can already order the album “Borderland”.
The band announced the new album last June with the first single Light and Shadow, followed by the singles Bones, Dancing Shadow and Fog To Fog (all below).
After recording their last four albums in Sweden, Amorphis decided to shake things up this time. The album was recorded at Hansen Studios in Denmark, with acclaimed producer Jacob Hansen (known, among other things, for his work with Volbeat, Amaranthe and Primal Fear) at the helm.
The cover art was created by Dutch artist Marald Van Haasteren, who has also worked on album covers for Metallica, Black Sabbath, Kvelertak and Alcest.
Amorphis are continuing their long-running collaboration with lyricist Pekko Kainulainen, who has been writing for the band since the album “Silent Waters” back in 2007.
