Down, American heavy metal icons, will release their long-awaited new studio album “Volume V” on November 20 via Nuclear Blast Records.
Down was never just a band. Down is a brotherhood, rooted in friendships that go back to childhood! A tribute to the city of New Orleans, Louisiana. Music for anyone who’s ever headbanged, played air guitar, or wore a (worn-out, faded) tour shirt like armor. For more than three decades, the quintet of Philip H. Anselmo, Pepper Keenan, Kirk Windstein, Jimmy Bower and Pat Bruders has quietly built a legacy like no other. When these guys get together, magic happens. The magic of earthquake-like rhythmic force and explosive roars straight from the soul, with guitar lines that could wake an ancient deity that’s been asleep for centuries.
This fall, then, Down open a new chapter with “Volume V”.
Below you’ll find the first single from the album and the video for the track Blood Oath.
“Volume V” was produced by Eddie Mapp and Down, mixed by Dave Fortman, and mastered by Maor Appelbaum at Maor Appelbaum Mastering in California.
