Haken, the new-era British prog metallers and darlings of Insideout Music, have dropped their first original track in three years. It’s the new single Bleeding Sky, which follows the earlier release of another new single, In A Fever Dream.
Together, the two singles are the band’s first new music since the album “Fauna” came out in 2023. Earlier this year, guitarist Charlie Griffiths and bassist Conner Green left the band. Haken sent them off with words of deep respect: “Both Charlie and Conner are irreplaceable. As musicians and as people, they contributed enormously to what Haken are today.”
To handle the bass duties, Haken called in top American bassist Bryan Beller of the highly regarded progressive instrumental outfit The Aristocrats. They also teamed up with producer George Lever for the first time in their career. Lever has previously worked with Sleep Token and Loathe.
