Lockhart, a new melodic rock outfit, will drop their debut “City Pulse” this June via High Roller Records. The release date and pre-order details will be announced later.
On »City Pulse« you’ll definitely pick up influences from Journey, Boston, Toto, Foreigner, REO Speedwagon, and maybe even, yeah, that’s really what they say, Starcastle.
Tracks like »The Dose That Made You Poison«, »Under Fire«, »Before The Fall« or »Together As One« are meticulously composed and flawlessly executed. “For me, songwriting is a deliberate process,” explains the band’s vocalist Devon Kerr. “The song comes first, the lyrics come last. Then come hours and hours of fine-tuning, especially the choir harmonies, guitar solos and so on… Everything is gone over very carefully. Nothing is left to chance. You can hear that clearly on »City Pulse«”, adds Kerr.
On the guitar solos, the trio got a hand on the debut from Nick “Nikropolis” Poulos of crossover thrash metal outfit Municipal Waste, so even though City Pulse draws on the best moments of AOR and at times wanders dangerously close to pop territory, this is an album you won’t want to nitpick.
The lineup also features drummer Fabio Alessandrini, who has played over the course of his career with the likes of Annihilator, Bonfire, Enforcer, Hardline, Raven, Rhapsody and Sunstorm, among others.
