Oddland, the Finnish progressive metallers, are back with a new single and a video for the track Unilluminate, which you can check out below. The single came out via Frontiers Music Srl., just like its predecessors Soar and Freefall.
With the new single, Oddland are also announcing the album “Unilluminate To Illuminate”, due out on August 21, 2026, via Frontiers Music Srl.
Mixing and mastering of the new album were handled by Grammy-nominated producers Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland at Atrium Audio studio (August Burns Red, Lorna Shore, Candlebox).
Oddland were formed in 2003 in the Finnish city of Turku, Finland. After a string of successful demo recordings, the band signed with Century Media and released their debut “The Treachery Of Senses” in 2012.
The record, mixed and mastered by Dan Swanö, was met with enthusiasm by critics, who praised it as the best prog metal record ever made in Finland.
Oddland recorded the follow-up “Origin” at Fantom studio (Insomnium, Korpiklaani, Oranssi Pazuzu), with Daniel Bergstrand (Meshuggah, In Flames, Dimmu Borgir) handling mixing and mastering. The album came out in 2016 via Sensory Records.
In February 2022, the band signed with the new German label Uprising! Records (a sub-label of Target Group) and released their third album “Vermilion”. Carson Slovak and Grant Mcfarland (Black Crown Initiate, Rivers Of Nihil, etc.) took care of mixing and mastering this one, while the album cover was created by the band’s drummer Ville Viitanen.
