Paul Grem have a new song, ‘Krik’! With their signature musical stamp and lyrical voice, the track lays bare our reality: a time marked by the fight for dominance and money, where the race for power often drowns out compassion and the end justifies any means. ‘Krik’ puts front and center a person who can no longer carry the weight of such a world and stays trapped in a constant scream, torn between realizing what they’ve become and a quiet hope for change.

Even though ‘Krik’ comes across first and foremost as a sharp piece of social critique, it’s not the first time Paul Grem take on the world and the human inner life. With ‘Omama’ and ‘Hladen dan’ they already proved they don’t shy away from heavy themes, while ‘Pot’ and ‘Tam nekje’ dug into the beginnings of our paths and our mortality.

With ‘Krik’ Paul Grem herald a new era of creativity. After a brief lull, they say that new tracks will follow Krik soon – the first ones will be recorded as early as spring with Bojan Pahljina, and for now it looks like they’re well on their way to a new album. In the meantime they’re also lining up gig dates, which they’ll announce as they go on their social media.

Paul Grem also made a video for ‘Krik’, which they entrusted to their friend Dejan Jakac. The video was shot in the dim spaces of Koper’s Bastion fortress, and audio/visual artist and musician Lukas Medves chipped in with abstract projections alongside the silhouettes of people.

Who are Paul Grem?

It all started with the song ‘Nočem plesat sam’, which right away showed off their signature sound, a blend of rock, blues and pop. They won over the crowds on the coast first, and with their music, interpretation, powerful vocals and energy they slowly won people over elsewhere too. Their debut ‘Luč preteklosti’ (2022) brought a mature, polished sound and a mix of tracks with punchy rock riffs and ballads that easily get under your skin. Two years ago they dropped ‘Nebo’, in between recorded a duet with Yan Baray, ‘Maj’, and after a short lull, a fresh one is here today: ‘Krik’.
